A Non-Government Organization can register itself as a society under The Society Registration Act, 1860 where society refers to a consortium of individuals who had associated on mutual consent for a predefined purpose. A society can be registered if it desires to undertake any activity for advancement of literature, science, charity, sports, music, culture, religion, art, education and other prescribed purposes.
